We want our customers to find protection and comfort in our products.
We use the best ethically sourced prime materials in the world from the most prestigious companies, always keeping the animal welfare in mind.
We work closely with our yarn suppliers and upon request they produce custom made yarns for us. Thanks to them we can offer completely exclusive products with a wide range of colours each season
Baby Alpaca
Baby Alpaca is a natural fibre obtained from the calf of the alpaca – a South American camelid species. For our products the yarn spinners process the baby alpaca’s softest hair, exclusively from Peru, to offer us a high quality yarn. Baby Alpaca wool is soft and warm and is one of the best natural fibres for your skin.
Alpaca wool is one of the most ethical products currently available that is completely eco-friendly and cruelty-free at the same time. Alpacas spend their entire lives wandering freely in their natural habitat, the Bolivian and Peruvian Andes Mountains. After the farmers gently shear their wool, they are released back into the wild.

Camel Hair
Camel Hair is a natural fibre obtained from a camel originating from Central and Oriental Asia. It’s a long fibre with anti-humidity properties making it ideal for outer garments. For our products we use un-dyed yarn made from 50% silk and 50% camel hair.
The production of camel hair on a world wide basis is limited – making it a very exclusive material. Many breeders are still nomadic, and they harvest camel wool using the same methods that have been passed down from their distant ancestors.

Cashmere
Cashmere is a natural fibre, known for its excellence, obtained from a goat originally from the regions of Cashmere and Tibet. Cashmere is known for its softness, warmth and lustrous quality, a result of its fine fibres.
For our cashmere produced there are very few machines used in the harvesting of the fibres, the flocks are small and the land required is minimal resulting in a fabric that is entirely naturally produced. Our collaborators are dedicated to help the protection of the territory, the welfare of animals and shepherds safeguarding the places of origin of the raw material.

Wool
Wool is a breathable and a natural insulator. It has a unique ability to react to changes in the body’s temperature, meaning it keeps you cool in summer and warm in winter. We use only ethically sourced wool for our production.
We use wool in the creation of our necklaces and from time to time when it’s mixed with silk or cashmere, we also use it for our scarves and blankets. The yarn we use are made from very long fibres of the highest quality resulting in products that are super soft to the touch and doesn’t irritate the sensitive skin on the neck.

Silk
Silk is a natural fibre with a unique combination of properties that no other fibre has – dry touch, natural shine, good humidity absorption and high resistance. Our Italian yarn providers create uniquely spun silk yarn exclusively made for Victoria de Talhora giving us the opportunity to create pieces you can’t find anywhere else in the world.
Almost all our products are made from “non-violence” Tussah Silk. This is a wild silk made from wild tussah silkworms who eat juniper leaves and oak. In the process of extracting this silk the silk moths break through the cocoon leaving a staple fibre that is then carded and spun into silk yarn. The yarn is thick and elastic and stands out for their lightness and dry texture.
